That was Then, This is Now

Then...
Now...

Deconstruction is underway. The Reuse Center came and stripped the interior of the house for anything they could resell. The floors were taken, windows, doors, banisters, cabinets, and much more. After the Reuse Center was done, the Excelsior Fire Dept. did a 3 hour training drill at the house. Basically the house was a shell, so the firefighters set off smoke bombs and did a search & rescue drill. There were 30 firefighters there & 2 ladder trucks and 3 accessory vehicles. Kevin watched the whole thing, but deconstruction is not my thing, so I stayed home with the girls. After that was done, a demo permit was issued & the wrecking ball came! Actually it was a massive digger truck & it took 2 1/2 hours only to level the house. It took another 2 days of clean-up, then there was a clean slate to start over with. But, it took several days, due to rain & snow!
